Nails of the Week: Stars and Stripes

Hello loves,
I hope everyone had a great 4th of July. My friends and I got together to hangout at the beach to enjoy the day and each others company. It was a potluck style meet up so we had so much food and everything tasted so good. By the end of the day, my stomach was going to explode! 
To get in the spirit of the holiday, I decided to do my nails in the red, white and blue color scheme. I love how festive my nails look. This nail style was really easy to create and was right up my alley:).

In this post I am also including what what I wore to the beach. I really wanted to continue the festive theme to celebrate America's independence. Since I couldn't find an 4th of July themed shirt (because I decided at the last min to dress in theme:/), I decided to create one. I took a blue tank and pinned a patriotic bow to it and and paired it with my star shorts to create my own 4th of July outfit:).

Kikistyles Nail of the Week: Magnetic Glitter

Out of all the nail polish trends out there, I have to say that the magnetic nail polish is my favorite! Magnetic nail polishes are made with a unique formula that create patterns on the nail using a magnet. Using a magnet helps to form the wave pattern that is secretly hidden to create a nice and fun 3d design:). For today's nail of the week, I decided to base the color scheme around Nail Inc Magnetic Polish called House of Parliament, which is a purple nail polish with black waves. To complete the nail look, I used Nicole by OPI I've Got Bieber Fever, Essie Licorice and OPI Divine Swine. Enjoy!

Nails of the Week: New Year Sparkle

Hey loves!!

I can't believe that this will be my last post of the year!!! It seems like it was yesterday we were ringing in 2012 and now it's time to do it  all over again - man how time flies. Looking back, I have to admit 2012 was an amazing year for me and I am looking forward to 2013 being even better:). I am claiming that♥!

Whenever I think about the New Years Eve celebrations, only one thing comes to mind....GLITTER!! I don't why NYE screams glitter but I am glad that it does:). For this weeks nails of the week, I used L'Oreal The Mystic's Fortune as a base color. Then added a gold glitter top coat on top of that from Revlon called Heart of Gold FX that has nice size chunks of hearts in to give my nail polish that extra touch. For the accent nail, I used Butter London West End Wonderland - which is a gold and orangey bronze color that I absolutely love. I think nail polish is very festive for the New Year and I hope you guys enjoy it.

Nails of the Week: Christmas Tree

I have another holiday nail art to share with you guys! When I think of Christmas, I think of Christmas trees, Christmas ornaments and the colors red, green and white. These colors are very festive and perfect for a Christmas nail art. And of course, you can't have Christmas nails without glitter. Lol. For today's NOTW, I used OPI Alpine Snow, Rimmel Stiletto Red, Nicole by OPI One Time Lime as the base colors and OPI Fresh Frog of Bel Air and Sally Hansen Gem Crush Cha-Ching for the glitter! Nails of the Week: Rudolph and Snow Flakes

It's the holiday season and since this is the most festive time of year, I am planning on doing festive nail art for the rest of the month of December:)! I drew inspiration for my nail art from this holiday magazine that I purchased from Walgreens. This magazine had a lot of cute holiday designs to do on the nails and I plan on incorporating all of them!

To create today's nail art, I used Wet n Wild On a Trip as a base color - which is a very pretty violet-lavender-periwinkle nail color some blue undertones nail color. To make it a festive look, my nail lady added silver snowflakes on all my fingers with the exception of the ring finger and added silver nails gems in the center of the snowflakes. For my ring finger, she drew a reindeer and put a red nail gem as it's nose to make him Rudolf the Red Nose Reindeer:). Hope you guys in enjoy this nail art!

Nails of the Week: Ode To Fall

Hello loves,

I have a very Fall inspired nail post for you guys:). I absolutely love Fall! I can't stress it enough how much I love this this time of year! I love how the leaves changes colors, love how the weather in Miami gets cooler and the best part, it's the holiday season. You can get really festive around this time of year by listening to Christmas music and just be in a jolly good mood! Lol. I know I am a cornball but I just can't help it:).

For today's nails I used Essie Braziliant as the primary base color. For the accent colors, I used Rimmel London Stiletto Red, Zoya Goldie and Rimmel London Rags to Riches. I love this color combination together and I think this nail design really represents Fall. Do you agree?

Nails of the Week: Feeling Blue

Hey guys,
Tropical Issac has been putting a damper on my weekend but not even the rain couldn't stop me from getting my nails done:)! What we women do for beauty! Lol. Using one of new my favorites nail polish colors from Wet N Wild called Pacific Blue and OPI Alpine Snow, I had my nail lady come up with this design for this week nails of the week. Check out the pictures below. Enjoy.

I love strips and glitter and like to incorporate them any opportunity I get:)!

Nail of the Week: OPI Need Sunglasses?

Bright colors are the all the rage and for this week nail of the week I wanted to pair the colors yellow and orange together to create this style. I purchase this nail art kit from CVS and I had manicurist style whatever she wanted on my ring finger and she came up with this cute nail style. Enjoy!

To create this nail style, she painted my nails with OPI Need Sunglasses? which is a sunny yellow nail polish that is perfect for summer. The only problem with this nail polish is that is very streaky and it took four coats to really get the color to show.

She then took Kiss Nail Art in bright orange and drew a flower on my ring finger and outlined it with glitter. (I love glitter:)!

Nails of the Week: Mint Green Cream

Hello my loves,

Mint green is the biggest color trend for the 2012 spring/summer fashion season and I wanted to incorporate the new trend on my nails----but with a twist. I decided to do every other nail with OPI Alpine Snow to create this Mint Green Cream. Hope you all enjoy it!

Essie Mint Candy Apple is a light mint green nail that has a light blue creme undertone and is part of the 2009 Winter Essie Sweet Time of the Year Collection. The formula for the nail polish is a bit tricky to work with as my manicurist had to add acetone to it to make it easier to apply. After applying two coats and my top coat, I was thoroughly impressed with the finished looked.
