Lately, it has been raining a lot here in Miami (which has made taking pictures a bit difficult) but on this day the rain stopped long enough for me take pictures. And the best part about that day was that the sun came out, which we haven't seen in days! I recently purchased this red and blue vest from Zara and I was having a hard time styling it. The pattern on the vest is very busy and I wanted it to be the focal point of the outfit. I played around with a lot of pieces in my closet and none of them made the outfit exciting enough for me. I usually like to plan my outfits the night before but I tend to over think them sometimes which gets a bit frustrating. I decided to come back to the vest another day and immediately an outfit came to mind. I find that sometimes outfit I put together last minute come out better than the ones I plan. I guess it's because I don't over think it and I let my creativity just flow:). For this look, I paired the vest with red pants for a bright look and finished it off a white top with a sneakers print and studded sandals. What I created was a simply but fun and a bright outfit to cheer me up on a rainy day:).
Hair care is a very important step in maintaining and treating our hair especially if you wear hair extensions (weave) like me. I wanted to share with you the items that I use and the steps I go through to make sure that I take care of my actual hair and my hair extensions. I am very active so I tend to sweat a lot in especially in my hair, which leaves it oily, dirty and itchy so every week I like to give hair a deep treatment. The main focus of the my hair care regime are products from a line called Carol's Daughter.
About a month ago, I was in Sephora buying makeup not even
looking for hair care items when I ran in to Nicole, A Carol’s Daughter Sephora
representative, and we started talking about hair care. I mentioned to her that
my biggest issue with sew-in is my itchy scalp. With all the heat and dirt on
my scalp, it turns into an itching fest. Sometimes I scratch so much that it leave
scabs on my head – ouch:/. I’m sure some us of have been there before. Her
solution to that was for me to us an elixir by Carol’s Daughter. She said that I
need to treat and hydrate my scalp to prevent the itching and she said that the
elixir would do the trick. Here are the benefits of the elixir:
A
conditioning scalp and hair oil that moisturizes, soothes and rejuvenates both
the follicle and scalp.
·Basil
Oil increases circulation in the scalp
·Peppermint
Oil moisturizes both scalp and hair
·Clary
Sage soothes your scalp if it’s tight, itchy or irritated
She also mentioned using a leave-in conditioner in between washes
to help treat my scalp and keep my extension looking good. And as an added
bonus, the product smells sooo good so it will keep hair smelling fresh. Here
are the benefits of the leave-in conditioner:
Moisturizing Leave-In
Conditioner Spray That Adds Shine & Softness
·Aloe Leaf Juice richly moisturizes
your hair so it’s easier to detangle
·Pro-vitamin B5 works to fortify
your hair so it can hold onto moisture better
·Wheat Proteins help to give your
hair a bit more strength
·Contains a sweet and invigorating
tropical scent for a soothing fragrance experience
·Replenishes essential moisture,
controls fly-aways and unmanageable hair
·No harsh, moisture-stripping
detergents
·Infused with Lavender, Calendula,
Chamomile, Rose, Marigold and Larkspur Flowers
Restores natural moisture and adds strength to your hair. The blend of
Wheat Protein and Pro-vitamin B5 fortifies your hair so it’s healthier and
won’t break when detangling. Made with natural moisturizers instead of
silicones so you can use it every day without weighing down your hair.
PLUS, No Parabens, No Petroleum, No Mineral Oil, No Artificial Colors
With all the information I got from Nicole about taking care of my hair and the products to use, I went home that night and came up with a new hair care routine and I am very happy with the results. My scalp doesn't itch as much as it did in the past and extensions look healthy. Check out my video below to see the steps I take to treat and care for my actual hair and my extensions.
Who knew that overalls would make a come back! They were vastly popular in the 80s and 90s because of how comfortable there were and now they are back! Overalls can be a challenge to style because if not styled correctly, they can make you look like a little kid or a farmer. It's all about finding a balance and making them look as modern as possible. Not only can they be practical but very stylish as well. For my look today, I went a chic laid back look by pairing these corduroy overalls that I got from the thrift store with a basic tank top and dressed it up with accessories. To make the overalls a bit more feminine, I rolled up my pant legs and completed my look with wedges.
Don't be afraid of trying out this style and remember you don''t have to break the bank for this trend. Check out your local thrift stores to find a pair and make the look your own:).
Happy Monday! I hope everyone had a great weekend! Let me
for start off by saying how much I love the Christmas holiday. I love the
change in temperature and the good mood that everyone seems to be in.
Everywhere you go, Christmas music is being played to help you get in the
spirit. I just love the holidaysJ!!!Now the reason why I bring up the holidays up
is because it has to do with my outfit. Right after Christmas, Forever 21 was
having a sale on all of their holiday apparels and that is where I got my reindeer
cardigan from. I love how festive it looks and I couldn’t wait to wear it. This
cardigan has been sitting in my closet for months now waiting to be worn. I wanted
to do something exciting with but I couldn’t figure out what until I went to Charlotte Russe and spotted this stripped hi-low skirt that I got on clearance. I thought
these two made the perfect pairing and it was wonderful way to be festive
during the summer months:).
Hello loves, I hope everyone had a great 4th of July. My friends and I got together to hangout at the beach to enjoy the day and each others company. It was a potluck style meet up so we had so much food and everything tasted so good. By the end of the day, my stomach was going to explode! To get in the spirit of the holiday, I decided to do my nails in the red, white and blue color scheme. I love how festive my nails look. This nail style was really easy to create and was right up my alley:).
Colors On My Nails:
Nicole by OPI: I Love You Cherry Much
OPI: Alpine Snow
Color Zone: Blue
Wet N Wild Fergie Collection: Hollywood Walk of Fame
In this post I am also including what what I wore to the beach. I really wanted to continue the festive theme to celebrate America's independence. Since I couldn't find an 4th of July themed shirt (because I decided at the last min to dress in theme:/), I decided to create one. I took a blue tank and pinned a patriotic bow to it and and paired it with my star shorts to create my own 4th of July outfit:).

Summer is the time to shine- show off
your tan, your arms, legs and...fabulous jewelry! I am a huge fan of gold for
the Summer time and with so many great brands out there the possibilities are
endless! It's no secret I have a knack for accessories and in my NYC apartment,
they fill the dressers, bookshelves and any nook or cranny you can imagine. I
organize and re-organize but for my ever growing collection, it's no use. As
long as I can find what I need in my jewelry infested apartment, I am a happy
gal! What do I love about accessories? They have the ability to change a blank
canvas into something amazing, little tweaks can change an entire look. So what
are my favorites? Take a peek into my closet for some accessory inspiration!
