Shabby Apple Giveaway **Closed**

I've always had a fascination with different periods, especially with the 40s, 50s and 60s. I love the way the women dressed back then. They were very classy and feminine and really work to make a mark in a man's world. With that being said, I am pleased to be hosting this giveaway with Shabby Apple. Shabby Apple is an online boutique that features vintage inspired clothing that embodies sophistication of another time.

"At Shabby Apple, we believe in both femininity and feminism. As feminine women, we create clothing that is artful in design and crafted with a vintage-style flare. Each piece is a carefully constructed to both flatter a women's figure and maintain her mystery. As feminists, we created a company that is a women-owned and operated and that donates to help other women start their own business. With our old-fashioned style and modern ideals, we believe the best is yet to come!"

For this giveaway, Shabby Apple is offering a gift card to their site allowing one lucky winner to purchase any item they want!! Here are some of my favorite peices from their clothing site:

Miami Breeze

Maxi skirts of any kind are my go to option when I don't want to put a lot of thought behind an outfit. They are comfortable and versatile. You can dress them up or down and still look put together. Most maxi skirts come with an elastic band that helps to keep everything in place without suffocating your middle section - which I love especially on my "fat" days ;). For today's outfit, I decided to pair this semi sheer chiffon hot pink maxi skirt that I got from TJMaxx with a denim jacket and heels for an effortless look. The fabric of the skirt has a wonderful swing to it which makes it flow in the Miami breeze. And while the skirt is very sheer, it does come with inside lining that covers up my bottom half. The lining itself is not to tight and allows me to move with ease. Hope you enjoy the look!

Spring 2013 Nail Picks

Just as in fashion, nail polish also follows a trend. Every season, nail polish companies release several new variations of colors and styles that are associated with that particular season. This Spring's nail trends are bright colors, bright and muted pastels  holographic effect, metallics, dark colors, eggshell effect, neons and neutral.

Most of the colors that I mention down below are part of past season collections and aren't available in stores anymore. For the ones I could find, I posted a link down below so check them out if you are interest in getting your hands on any of these polishes:).

I am very excited about wearing these colors for Spring and I will be doing swatches and nail art designs with them very soon!

Kikistyles Nail of the Week: Magnetic Glitter

Out of all the nail polish trends out there, I have to say that the magnetic nail polish is my favorite! Magnetic nail polishes are made with a unique formula that create patterns on the nail using a magnet. Using a magnet helps to form the wave pattern that is secretly hidden to create a nice and fun 3d design:). For today's nail of the week, I decided to base the color scheme around Nail Inc Magnetic Polish called House of Parliament, which is a purple nail polish with black waves. To complete the nail look, I used Nicole by OPI I've Got Bieber Fever, Essie Licorice and OPI Divine Swine. Enjoy!

Primary Colors

The weather in Miami has been so amazing lately! It starts off by being cool in the morning and warms up in the afternoon. There is still a nice cool breeze during the day that keeps the sun from being too hot. This is one of the main reasons why I love Spring!

I have to say that this was one of my favorite photo shoot to date because of the outfit! Incorporating bright colors is a fun way to make your outfit stand out. Vibrant colors and colorful floral patterns are great fashion statements and they help to broadens your fashion horizon. For today's outfit, I decided to pair the three primary colors together to create this very fun colorful, vibrant look. Red, white and blue tend to look a bit patriotic so to break up that theme, I added a yellow bag and flats and a colorful scarf to create another Spring inspired look. Enjoy!

Hello loves,
With Spring right around the corner, I wanted to create a fashion post highlighting the bright colors of Spring. Recently, I went to TJMaxx to update my Spring wardrobe and came across this light knit sweater and brightly colored butterfly scarf (both on clearance!) and decided to create an outfit around it. This sweater/scarf combo is perfect for the cool temperature that you can expect this time of year and a great way to bring in Spring. To complete the look, I paired the combo with green wedges and a yellow handbag to create a fun Spring look:). Enjoy!
